I spend days reading the same fixes and never find anything new to try. Any other ideas people? The command prompt module displays this at the beginning of each line X:\Sources> So should the command be: X:\Sources>chkdsk (space) /f (space)

I changed my AHCI to IDE and booom It worked and booted to Windows 7.

In the meantime, I've managed to back up personal docs by booting through a Linux CD. Error Code = 0x490 System Files Integrity Check Attempted to repair with the Startup Repair. If Vista still will not start, try booting into Safe Mode to run sfc /scannow to repair System files. You'll have to go into the Command Prompt and work it out.
