It worked without me editing the registry or anything else. I'm an administrative professional whose company has a less than qualified IT guy…he was going to remove my computer from the office to fix this! This is a small mess that might grow larger as more users make attempts to connect to the new server.
It seems to be some sort of Windows Update which has 'broken' this because it wasn't a problem prior. You will need to find one that fits your scenario but there is not a place on the server to say fix this. How do you say "enchufado" in English? Thanks for the info.
